what have i done?

ever since i started blogging
my mind has changed
i used to go about my days
enjoying the highs
and
living through the lows
and
i still do
the only difference now is
i
think
in
blog
posts
there is this constant inner dialogue
swirling about in my mind
in which i think more
about the going ons around me
i pause more
i pay attention
i commit things to memory
i write things down
i take more photos
sometimes of things i would never normally capture

and while sometimes i find this annoying
i am also thankful

i am taking note
and that is a good thing.

so, fellow bloggers,
what has blogging done for you lately?

Ha ha ha! Great post. Exactly the same. I have a journal and camera with me everywhere I go and always think of blog posts. Even family now suggest ideas for blogs. It ia an hilarious phenomenon and I think its a good thing as long as it doesnt completely take over our lives.

I carry a little notebook now and when I don't feel like digging for it, I put a memo in my cell phone. LOL

Over from SITS - I can totally relate! Starting my blog has made me really start paying attention to what's going on around me...I mean really paying attention...I'm always having thoughts and verbiage swirling around my head thinking 'that would make a great post' - but then when I sit down to type it all out, 'poof!' the thoughts get all jumbled up. I'm going to have to start carrying around a notebook to write 'em down before they get away! LOL!!

I used to be a huge shutterbug and take lots of fabulous pictures - but seem to have gotten away from that over the years...but have started doing it so much more now that I have a blog - so I'm right there with you on that one, too! :)

Blogging has changed me in the same way! I am glad to find someone who thinks about it, too. Some of my good IRL friends have even commented during conversations -- I bet I'll read about that on your blog! LOL! I think it is great that we are recording things we would otherwise forget... :-)

Hello Lori,

Please forgive my boldness, but I am doing a bit of blog surfing to tell people about my giveaway. There are no gimmicks. This is just my way of celebrating two years of blogging. I hope that you will do me the honor of coming over and taking a look.

Hahahahahaha! Glad to know I'm not the only one whose mind thinks like this!! Lol!

I think I could just say dido to your post. Sometimes blogging overwhelms me but then I am so grateful I will have all of these thoughts and memories to share in the future.

this is exactly how I think lately since starting blogging. "how will this look written down?" lol...I so enjoy your blog Lori :) it reminds me of my oldest when he was about 4 in the back of the car and he asked me what color hair God had..lol

This is so how my brain works now. I think it makes the lows more bearable, and the funny stuff is funnier. And when I have good news...well, I get really excited to know that my bloggy friends will be equally as excited for me.

My husband bought me a small Cybershot camera for my blog stories! He will call me at random times and say "I have got a story for your blog" or "here is todays post for ya"
He was totally against the whole blog thing in December! ha ha

I thought I was the only one who did this! At first, I thought it was because I spend far too much time blogging. But then I realised that blogging has helped me to live more fully in the present moment, to savour funny stories or special times, and to document them for myself in my own way. Great post! (Stopping in from SITS).

I am sad. I think about people that I speak to in what code name I can sneak them into my posts. (the redhead that annoyed me at the store? Big Red. the runny nosed kid that was mean to my kid at the park? Faucet.) I pray that not everyone is addicted to Lie To Me like me and my husband are so that way they can't read my face and my "tells".

My best, Lynn

Happy SITS day!

I do the same thing! Always thinking if this or that would make a good blog post!

Blogging has become like my therapy. I find out what I think about something when I write about it on my blog.

Visiting from SITS!
So true - blogging does change us - I too take more photos and think more and met so many nice, creative, talented inspiring people of all age groups!

You are right! Although we think differently, I'm not sure that is a bad thing. If we are paying closer attention, that is always good.

This is one thing I love about blogging. I'm starting to really pay attention to the small stuff in life. I'm finding those little moments in life to be more meaningful all of the sudden. Not JUST because I have a blog to share it on, but because I'm more aware of my life in general. GREAT post!

I totally agree. In the past something that would have embarrassed me, now sounds like a great blog post! I think it has taught me not to take myself so seriously!

Oh my gosh, you summed it all up! It's so true! I too think in blog posts, writing posts in my head and trying to capture any moments I can. I also love how small blogging makes the world seem. Really and truly, I love meeting so many new people on here. It's simply amazing how many people you can find common interests and share every day moments with!

I agree! I'm always looking for "inspiration!"

Happy SITS day!

Oh yes, I totally do this with my family blog. I also have a cooking blog, so I take pictures of all our food. My family thinks I'm crazy, but they put up with me!

I completely agree. It has also changed my perspective on the "annoying" situations too. Great post.

I know what you mean! Sure, my girlfriends always jokingly poke "you gonna blog about this?" but who are they asking for pictures? And yes! Some even began blogging. I love how everyday things become so much more fun! So glad I stopped by from SITS!

Visiting from SITS...You're right. That is how it is for me too. My mind never stops thinking about if what I'm thinking will be good for a posting. Funny!

Melanie said...

i so know that feeling.
i'm thinking everytime "i have to write that on blog... and that... and this...i have to capture a photo of this for my blog,..." these thoughts just go on and on and on... ;)

here from sits:) i think i have noticed the same things as you, and like you i sometimes feel burdened by taking notes, or sooo many pics, but in the end, i really enjoy more of the little things and also have my blog as a memory....

I missed you yesterday so I am back today! Blogging has really changed my life. I hate saying that because a lot of people who are close to me (and don't blog) don't understand what is so appealing about the blogosphere. But it's just a way to feel like you have self-worth, or people who care enough to read what you have to say! I understand this post oh so well. Thanks for sharing :)

Rita Barakat said...

Me too! My kids are always asking - are you gonna put blog about that mom?

When I began scrapbooking, this same thing happened to me, I began thinking about my next layout. The same frame of mind has transferred effortlessly to blogging! (Playing catch-up from SITS yesterday!)

I am new to blogging but I have noticed that this blogger mentality has started to affect me already.

In fact, this week I have already drafted the blog posts for next week.. It's been pretty crazy!

What a wonderful post. It really does show you one of the advantages of blogging. I love the friends I've met, that's my favorite thing.

Jessica said...

Ditto! I am constantly thinking-"how can this apply or how can I incorporate this into my blog?"

Rachel@just another day in paradise said...

I have at least 3 blog posts going in my head at all times. . .of which, few make it on the computer. . .Isn't that sad? Blogging keeps me sane (which is good) and "everything is bloggable!" Found you through SITS. Love the blog!

I noticed the same thing last night after an argument with my husband my first thought was "I've got to blog about this!" hahah certainly makes us take notice of life!
