i like to write
but i have not done so
in a long time
i have a few ideas
but never seem to
get them onto paper
i struggle with where to start
how to develop ideas
and the funny thing is
i teach writing!
my students would love to hear this!
ugh!
so recently, i have been trying
to convince myself
to put pen to paper
may they join soon,
like a moth to a flame

fun!!!! what kind of writting are you going to do????
i hate when i feel like i have something inside of me that needs to be put down on paper and the words just don't come.
good luck!
I hate when I get that way. Have a wonderful day, stopping by from SITS :).
I love to write as well, I've gotten away from it, but I think we put too much pressure on ourselves. We are convinced it has to be "great" before we're worthy to put our words on paper. I really believe that it's not true, pick up a pen and just start writing random words, before you realize what is happening, what you actually wanted to say is flowing from your head onto the paper...don't think too hard about it, just do it.
and Lori, seriously, I do think your students would benefit from hearing about your writing insecurities, it would be encouraging to them to know that you don't wake up every day with pages flowing from your pen..lol
You can do it!
Can't wait to see what you've got for us!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I go through the same thing!! When I can start it just unleashes a whole stream of stuff, sometimes I can't type fast enough to keep up with my brain. What do you tell your students when they feel like this, any little tricks?
You have a great way of writing about you Lori!! You can do it....maybe you can be a famous author one day...you could start out with a kids book and go from there!
I am right there with you sista. Have you heard of the blog/community "Writer Interuppted"? It's by a mom writer, who found after having kids writing was MUCH harder. I wrote a lot in college, and taught writing before my kids came along, but now I hardly write at all except for grocery lists and my blog. I fear I've lost my touch, my gift, for it. I'm excited to read along as you try it out again. I actually just stopped by to introduce myself as a brand new SITSa and invite you over to “Two Under Two. Whew!” for my super-fun-and-little-bit-silly giveaways, one of which is tied to our fellow SITSa, BlogBaby! You could win a collection from Tiny Two’s Baby Animals line, or some chocolate covered pretzels! See you around the blogosphere friend!
